Every month, our Wendy picks her favourite cheese from the Larder’s award-winning cheese counter.
This month's cheese is new to the Larder!
A smooth, delectable cheese made in the Provence of Brittany in France, Port Salut was originally named Port du Salut after the Abbey of Notre Dame.
It keeps well and the rind is coloured with imprints of the cloth used in its production, making it a striking (and tasty!) addition to any cheese board.
Refining takes 1-2 months.
Wendy says:
"This creamy, pale yellow cheese gives a deep, rich flavour - fabulous!"
Port Salut and a wide variety of cheese & accompaniments are available to buy now in store, or to order & collect from Deli at the Station - call 01434 632948 to find out more.
